During the last CoR session on July 3, 2025, Deputy Mayor Zdeněk Hřib urged the EU to take the effects of mass tourism seriously — especially on housing and quality of life.
In a debate with Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas, Deputy Mayor Hřib highlighted the impact of high-intensity tourism on Prague’s housing, infrastructure, and everyday life. He called for balanced strategies that protect residents’ quality of life while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the tourism sector.
