The festive opening of the exhibition THE ART NOUVEAU WOMAN: FROM MUSE TO FEMME FATALE organised by the Prague House in Brussels and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague took place on Wednesday 24 May 2023. The exhibition which is part of the rich program of "CAPITAL OF ART NOUVEAU BRUSSELS 2023" features works by Mucha alongside many other items – posters, furniture and furnishings – that highlight the essence of Art Nouveau: its celebration of the vitality represented by nature and femininity.
On Wednesday 19 April 2023 the Delegation of Prague to the EU organised the festive opening of the exhibition ASSORTMENT STRATEGIES. The joint exhibition of Alžběta Říhová and Petr Dub is not a confrontation, but rather a symbiosis, a parallel public presentation of two similarly artistically oriented authors. Alžběta and Petr belong to unique representatives of post-conceptual art, or "reductive tendencies", but transformed by the postmodern lesson that revived spectacular visuality.
On Tuesday 9 May 2023, the Delegation of Prague to the EU organised the first event of the “Prague House Concert Series”.
During the Cello and Pianoforte recital with the subtitle Authentic Beethoven, the artists Olsi Leka and Piet Kuijken reproduced the Beethoven’s original sound by using an Anton Walter original pianoforte from ca. 1800 and a Raffaele Gagliano cello (mounted on gutstrings) from ca. 1820.
In the second half of April 2023 the world's largest human rights documentary film festival—One World, which annually attracts tens of thousands of people in the Czech Republic alone—once again filled cinemas and movie halls all over Brussels, including BOZAR, the Cinema Galeries, the European Parliament building and the Prague House Brussels.
On Thursday, April 20, the Prague House in Brussels was delighted to host Czech President Petr Pavel and his wife who met there with Czechs living or working in the Belgian capital.
On International Women's Day, 8 March 2023, the Czech Liaison Office for Education and Research (CZELO) together with the Representation of the South Moravian Region in Brussels, the Czech Center in Brussels and the Delegation of Prague to the EU organized this year's first Science Café. The moderator Sookie Stoops, an expert on science communication, who got her degree in bioengineering, led the discussion with our two guests, Kateřina Šédová, founder of the non-profit organization Loono, and Nina Formánek Jaganjacová, founder of the Sifty organization and author of the book “Cancer Stories” (Příběhy o rakovině).
On Wednesday 15 March 2023 the Delegation of Prague to the EU organised the festive opening of the exhibtion VERONIKA HOLCOVÁ: FROM THE DEVIL TO ZEN. The exhibition was presented both by its author Veronika Holcová and its curator Vilém Kabzan.
Brussels Sculpture Festival Sculptura #1 united Brussels, Belgian and international monumental, sculptural and installation art and artists in a grand setting. It is the largest temporary indoor exhibition of contemporary sculptures and statues in Belgium. The first edition of the annual festival took place at Gare Maritime / Tour & Taxis from the 10th of February 2023 till the 12th of March 2023.
The Czech sculpture was represented by Benedikt Tolar and Kateřina Komm.
