The Year of Czech Music is a unique event dating back to 1924 when Bedřich Smetana’s 100th anniversary was celebrated. To celebrate the Year of Czech Music 2024, the Prague House has prepared 6 concerts to mark the anniversaries of Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček, Josef Suk, Bohuslav Martinů as well as two concerts dedicated to jazz.
The cycle will begin on January 16 with a solo recital by Czech Philharmonic concertmaster Jiří Vodička, and the audience can continue to look forward to concerts by the chamber ensembles Kukal Quartet, Slavic Trio, SVA Trio or Nela Dusová with the formation 2in2out. The program with Czech authors will be given also by the Belgian ensembles Ensemble Émeraude, the guitar duo Thaïs Cosnefroy & Antoine Miralles and the violinist Alice Van Leuven.
