On Wednesday 9th of March 2022 the Delegation of Prague to the EU organised a festive opening of the exhibition „ZOMBIE PROPHETS“ which features a selection of works of three distinctive Czech intermedia artists, David Krňanský, Namor Namor and Julius Reichel, with main focus on painting. The exhibition has been prepared in cooperation with the NTK Gallery.
Although all three presented artists are, in addition to solo work, also active within the art group Black Hole Generation (BHG), at the exhibition in the Prague House in Brussels they present themselves directly under their individual identities outside the structure of где взять займ безработному с плохой кредитной? this art group. Here too, however, the exhibition was created in close collaboration and some of the works are even co-authored by the participating artists.
The curator Milan Mikuláštík introduced the Brussels exhibition and selected art pieces to the public in the presence of all authors: „ … Probably the most significant artefact of the Brussels exhibition is a serie of medium-format paintings, which were created in collaboration with Namor and Reichel especially for the Brussels exhibition, and are presented to the public for the first time. The site-specific way of installing these canvases in the spectacular interiors of the piano nobile of the Prague House, parasitically using the aesthetics of decorative historical details, suggests the trio’s usual approach to the spatial solution of the exhibition, which, in addition to instant subversiveness, doesn‘t lack humor and irony, and like the slogans in the paintings, can in this particular case metaphorically refer to the current latent crisis of society and the unhappy dystopian prospects of its development…“.
The event was accompanied by musical performance by DJ Swimlanes.
You can visit the exhibition until 20 April 2022 in the Prague House gallery, on weekdays between 9h00 and 16h00, after reservation (tel. 02 230 9491 or email@example.com).
